Used Toyota Yaris Shock Absorber

Original equipment, used, and described honestly: condition, donor mileage and anything missing are stated before the unit ships. Fitment is confirmed from your VIN, not from the model name.

How we source a shock absorber for the Yaris

Dampers for the Toyota Yaris are identified by the numbers on the unit and by what came off with it. A bare damper and a complete strut with spring and top mount are different purchases at different prices.

Toyota's commercial line — Hilux, Land Cruiser, Hiace — carries most of the used-part demand we see. These vehicles stay in service for decades, so original units are still being pulled from late-model write-offs rather than from scrapyards.

We do not hold stock and quote from a shelf — units are located after you send the VIN, which is why the price you get is for your vehicle rather than for an average one. If nothing suitable is available at the time, we say so instead of quoting a unit that will not fit.

What we check before we quote

  • Part number matched to your build — standard, sport and adaptive damping are three separate parts.
  • Oil weeping and rod condition inspected; a leaking unit is described as leaking.
  • Whether spring, top mount, bearing and dust boot are included.
  • Paired from the same donor where possible, so both sides of an axle carry similar wear.

Questions buyers ask about this part

Am I buying a shock or a complete strut?

It depends on what the donor gave us, and the listing states it line by line. A complete strut saves your workshop a spring compressor; a bare damper is cheaper but reuses your old spring and mount.

Can I replace only one side?

You can, and we will sell you one. Damping should be matched across an axle though, because a new unit against a worn one makes the car feel uneven over bumps and can affect stability control.

Do adaptive dampers need coding?

Usually yes — a replacement with a control module has to be introduced to the car. We tell you when the unit carries electronics, so your workshop knows before it books the job.
