Used GMC Sierra Gearbox

A genuine used example, located for your chassis rather than pulled from stock. Identification is by the number stamped on the unit, and we tell you what is included before you commit.

How we source a gearbox for the Sierra

Used original GMC Sierra gearboxes — automatic, manual or CVT depending on what your vehicle was built with. The transmission code decides fitment, so we ask for it before quoting anything.

American trucks and SUVs were built in several plants with running changes, so the market and build date of the donor matter as much as the model year.

We do not hold stock and quote from a shelf — units are located after you send the VIN, which is why the price you get is for your vehicle rather than for an average one. If nothing suitable is available at the time, we say so instead of quoting a unit that will not fit.

What we check before we quote

  • Transmission code read from the case or the VIN build sheet, matched before quoting.
  • Mileage and service history of the donor where it can be documented.
  • Torque converter, mechatronic unit and cooler lines listed as included or excluded.
  • Valve body and solenoid faults declared up front — no unit is sold as 'tested' unless it was.

Questions buyers ask about this part

Automatic, manual or CVT — how do I know which one I have?

The transmission code on the case, or the build sheet decoded from your VIN, tells us. Send a photo of the code plate and we will confirm before quoting.

Does the gearbox come with the torque converter?

Usually yes for automatics, but it is stated per unit. Some donors arrive without it, and we would rather tell you than have you find out at the workshop.

Can a gearbox be shipped to another country?

Yes. Gearboxes travel on a pallet, drained and braced, with export paperwork. Freight is quoted by weight and destination.
