Does the turbo include the actuator?
When the donor had one and it is serviceable, yes. Electronic actuators are matched to the unit they came with, so we keep them together rather than mixing parts.
Can I fit a turbo from a different engine variant?
Only when the part number and calibration match. Fitting a larger or differently calibrated turbo without a matching map is how engines run lean and melt pistons.
Is a used turbo a risk?
It carries more risk than a new unit, which is why we report shaft play and wheel condition instead of just calling it 'good'. If the report does not satisfy you, do not buy it.
