Used BMW 7 Series Cylinder Head
A genuine used example, located for your chassis rather than pulled from stock. Identification is by the number stamped on the unit, and we tell you what is included before you commit.
How we source a cylinder head for the 7 Series
Cylinder heads for the BMW 7 Series are matched on casting number, not on engine size alone. We ask for a photo of the old head so the replacement is the same casting.
BMW's part numbering is precise and unforgiving — a unit from a different production series will not fit. We read the eleven-digit number before anything else.
We do not hold stock and quote from a shelf — units are located after you send the VIN, which is why the price you get is for your vehicle rather than for an average one. If nothing suitable is available at the time, we say so instead of quoting a unit that will not fit.
What we check before we quote
- Casting number compared with the head coming off your vehicle.
- Pressure test result stated per unit; cracks between valve seats declared if present.
- Whether camshafts, valves, springs and injector seats are included.
- Warp measured and reported, not assumed to be within tolerance.

Questions buyers ask about this part
Is the head sold bare or assembled?
Both are possible. Assembled heads include valves and camshafts; bare heads are the casting only. The listing for each unit states which, and we do not swap one for the other without telling you.
What if the casting number is slightly different?
Then we do not ship it. Casting revisions can change port shape and injector seating, and a 'close enough' head is how engines end up back in pieces.
Do you supply heads with a cracked seat?
No — a crack between the valve seats is a reject. If a unit has any crack, it is described as such and priced accordingly, never sold as serviceable.
